Linens Direct irons out the creases after successful strategic review

Textiles retailer Linens Direct is back in the black, according to results just filed at Companies House.

The return to profitability follows a strategic review of the product range and a refocusing of the business. For the year ended January 31, the retailer reported a pre-tax profit of£121,787 on near-flat turnover of£14.37 million.

The retailer suffered a£141,233 pre-tax loss last year, after the closure of a store in the Trafford Centre and the axing of the more discount driven fascia NQP.

Russell Jerrard at property agents Brasier Harris said the 25-store retailer was back on the expansion trail and looking for out-of-town sites as well as high street locations.
