Games retailer to benefit from launch of new consoles
The Game Group has unveiled like-for-like sales up 10.1 per cent for the 22 weeks to July 1.

Like-for-likes increased 10.7 per cent in the UK and by 7.8 per cent across continental Europe. Total group sales were up 21.1 per cent.

The computer games retailer said trading was in line with expectations.

The planned launch of games consoles Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii are expected to boost sales significantly in the run-up to Christmas.

Game also announced it was on track to open its 800th store, with 60 to 70 branches opening across Europe this year.
