Landlord Topwell Estates has been granted planning consent to carry out a £2.2 million facelift of the Arndale Centre in Leeds.

The refurbishment will include a redesign of its main façade as well as a new canopy, a rejig of the scheme’s layout to create more retail space and some improvements to paving, car-parking and lighting around the centre.

The works will also bring an extra 12,000 sq ft (1,115 sq m) of office space to the 63,375 sq ft (5,890 sq m) centre in the Headingley area of Leeds, which includes a Somerfield supermarket, as well as 22 other retail units.
