Kwik Save speeds up store revamps

Kwik Save is to ramp up the conversion of stores to its new-look from spring, following a successful trial.

The Somerfield-owned fascia has tested the design in seven stores, and increased the emphasis on fresh food over the past six months. There have been sales uplifts of as much as 60 per cent in the new-look stores.

A spokesman said the retailer is 'extremely happy' with performance.

Kwik Save executives are to decide on a final store model by the end of next month, kick-starting a roll-out across the 690-strong chain.

Separately, Kwik Save's entry-point own-brand Simply has proven successful since its launch last month. Sales are up 38 per cent compared with the cheapest-on-display last year.
