Jungle founder to launch digital TV shopping channel

Entrepreneur Steve Bennett, founder of e-tailer Jungle.com, will launch a new retail venture - Factory Outlet TV - on Monday.

The digital TV channel cost£4 million to set up and will sell a wide range of end-of-line stock ranging from clothes, sunglasses and watches to golf clubs and storage heaters at discounts of up to 75 per cent.

Bennett already has brands including Versace, Calvin Klein and Accurist on board. The TV service will carry approximately 250 items and will be complemented up by a Web site - Factoryoutlettv.com.

Bennett said: 'We want to be the first port of call for brands when they have something to clear. I am hopeful that Factory Outlet will set a new standard for TV shopping in the UK.'

Bennett, who also runs the digital TV channel tgh, dedicated to toys, games and hobbies, sold jungle.com to GUS for£37 million in 2000, after pulling the plug on a planned float.
