Jessops steps up its digital camera offer

Jessops is doubling the space given to digital camera equipment in a selection of new stores.

Brand development director Symon Powell described the impact of the new product on the photography market over the last two years as akin to the advent of DVD in the video sector.

The exact space given to digital in stores will vary, but in a handful of new shops, it will be as much as 40 per cent.

Powell said the retailer was gearing up for Christmas, which Jessops expected to be the second big festive season for digital cameras.

The store group is also rolling out new point-of-sale material to its 243 shops.
