Jaeger has signed a franchise agreement to open up to eight stores in the Middle East over the next five years.

The agreement with Kuwait's Speciality Fashion Group marks the next step in the fashion chain’s global onslaught, which the group believes could account for half its turnover eventually.

The franchise stores are planned to open in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon and the Kingdom of Saudi.

Jaeger chief executive Belinda Earl said: “This continues Jaeger’s international growth strategy, accelerating the brand’s global presence in additional key markets.”

Earl added that Christmas trading had been strong, up 15 per cent compared with last year.
