Innovations bumps up page count

Shop Direct is revving up revived gadgets catalogue Innovations, with more pages and a revamped Web site, after a limited trial run was judged a commercial success.

A bigger catalogue, featuring devices such as a hands-free hoover, will be distributed to existing customers and through media inserts from Monday.

The retailer is in talks with UK inventors, and is investigating the possibility of bringing their ideas to market via the catalogue.

The Innovations brand was part of the former GUS home shopping business, which includes Additions Direct, sold to the Barclay brothers last year.

Renamed Shop Direct, it has also resurrected home and garden title Home Free, which had also been mothballed by the previous owners.
