The humorous ad ends with a tired looking Santa saying he’d like a holiday.

The German discounter has also revealed plans to hire 150 store managers and 400 assistant store managers to support its expanded portfolio of stores throughout the UK.

Aldi said it will require an increased number of management staff in preparation for the opening of around 50 stores during 2014.

Aldi head of recruitment James Hutcheson said: “Aldi’s strong growth has created an immediate requirement for additional management staff within a majority of our existing and new stores, and so we’re looking to take on successful candidates straight away.

“We’re looking to attract individuals from a wide range of retail backgrounds, including supermarket, fast-food and clothing chains, who can demonstrate relevant retail management experience, and the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.”

Aldi said its store managers receive a starting salary of £34,750 per annum, rising to around £52,000 over four years.

Assistant store managers begin on a salary of £23,000 per annum, rising to around £30,000 after a year’s full training.

Each Aldi store will typically have two assistant store managers.
