7:29am Mulbery partners with Farfetch

British handbag designer Mulberry have signed up with global etailer Farfetch in a bid to “strengthen” its international presence. 

From tomorrow a selection of Mulberry handbags and lifestyle products will be available on Farefetch’s ecommerce platform. 

The global concession deal means that Mulberry products will now be available to Farfetch customers in more than 190 countries. 

7:17am Asos confirm CFO appointment

Etail fashion giant Asos has this morning confirmed the appointment of Mathew Dunn as its new chief financial officer. 

The retailer snared Dunn in October 2018 from soft drink manufacturer Britvic, where he had been chief financial officer. He is set to replace Helen Ashton in the role, after she departed the business over a year ago. 

Since Ashton’s departure Asos boss Nick Beighton has been filling in. 

Dunn joins after the fashion etailer posted an 87% fall in pre-tax profit year on year to £4m in the six months to February 28.

7:00am French fashion billionaires donate millions to Notre Dame

France’s two richest men have pledged €300m (£259.4m) between them to help rebuild Paris’ Notre Dame cathedral after Monday’s fire. 

François-Henri Pinault, chair of the Kering Group - which owns luxury fashion brands such as Gucci, Yves Saint Lauren and Balenciaga - yesterday promised to donate €100m (£86.4m), while LVMH (Louis Vuitton) boss Bernard Arnault pledged €200m (£173m), according to Sky News. 

Overnight the owners of cosmetics group L’Oreal, the Bettencourt family, also pledged to donate €200m. 

The news comes after the roof of the more than 800-year-old Notre Dame cathedral in the heart of the French capital caught fire on Monday evening.
