Magnet has unveiled a new store format complete with a fully functioning kitchen

The kitchens specialist is rolling out the new concept in its Stockton store, followed by its Sale and South Wimbledon locations.

The store features a fully working kitchen area so colleagues can showcase how kitchen appliances work, including technology such as boiling water taps and steam ovens.

Customers can also make use of the Design Studio where they can experiment with various styles and materials to create their dream kitchen.

The studio includes a mood-boarding area with a lightbox, allowing customers to see how their kitchen will look at different times of the day.

The store also has a space for children called The Hideout, where they can entertain themselves in a downsized play kitchen or relax on bean bags and watch TV.

Sustainability is high on Magnet’s agenda, meaning that all timber for cabinets is sustainably sourced while the showrooms run on renewable electricity.

Magnet’s parent company Nobia Holdings is investing in the business’ strategy following its best-ever winter season, with a turnover of £417.3m – up from £394m for the year ending December 2021.

Nobia Holdings UK chief executive Dan Carr said: “We’ve been around since 1918 and we’re still going strong, making us the UK’s longest-standing kitchen specialist with 196 stores in the UK and over a century of happy customers under our belt.

“Our new store format is part of our wider commercial strategy, which will focus on design and sustainability and has a clear focus on inspiring better living through purposeful design.

“We’re proud to launch our first store with the new format and look forward to rolling this out to our existing and new stores in the future.”
