HMV moots TV and mobiles as sales channels

HMV is considering selling via mobile phones and through digital television.

The entertainment group is looking at new avenues through which it can retail CDs, DVDs and games.

HMV e-commerce development manager Gary Coller said: 'We've been keeping an eye on what's happening and are keen to look at the technology.'

Last month, HMV relaunched its Web site and went live with new listening posts in its Oxford Street flagship.

The posts allow customers to hear 70,000 tracks featured on www.hmv.co.uk. HMV has integrated its stores and online product into one central catalogue to improve customer service.
