Helfgott plans review of M&S food strategy

Marks & Spencer's new director of food intends to review the division's marketing strategy as part of his overall business plan.

Maurice Helfgott - the former director of menswear who replaced Justin King, following the latter's move to Sainsbury's as chief executive - said: 'I've learned a lot about the food business in the past few weeks.

One of the things I'm excited about is how we can get all this across to the customer.

'I want to look at the way we are packaging it, presenting it, marketing it and the way we are getting people to trial new products.'
