Sephora is opening a flagship London store in spring 2023

The US beauty giant will return to the UK with a new website and flagship store, years after it closed its stores in 2005.

Sephora, which acquired British beauty marketplace Feelunique for £135m last year, will convert the site to become sephora.co.uk later this month.

The website will also be tied to the Sephora app to help UK consumers discover the beauty retailer’s wealth of prestige brands.

Carefully curated for the British market, Sephora’s new website will include brands exclusive to the UK such as Tarte Cosmetics, ILIA and Makeup by Mario, as well as Sephora’s own Sephora Collection.

Other premium beauty brands featured include Pat McGrath Labs, Fenty Beauty and Glow Recipe.

The website will be followed by a flagship London store in spring 2023, offering customers a chance to access Sephora’s beauty expertise.

Sephora chief executive and chairman Chris de Lapuente said: “At Sephora, we innovate every day to build the most loved beauty community. We are delighted to bring Sephora to the UK, responding to Britain’s strong demand for our unique prestige beauty experience. UK customers will be encouraged to explore and discover the best versions of themselves as we support them in their beauty journey with a fantastic curation of time-tested classics and new indie brands.

“We will offer British consumers a pioneering selection of beauty that is best in class for innovation, diversity and inclusion. The UK is home to a dynamic beauty and wellbeing market that Sephora will aim to surprise and delight through our trademark knowhow and creativity. Our passionate team cannot wait to serve and inspire UK customers under the Sephora brand.”
