Popstar's designer daughter in Swedish link-up
H&M has signed Stella McCartney to design a womenswear collection for the autumn. The designer will offer a collection of 40 items under the label Stella McCartney for H&M.

The move follows a similar collection for H&M by Karl Lagerfeld last autumn, when he was criticised for saying that his creations were only for slim, slender people.

McCartney has taken a more pragmatic approach by saying that the partnership with H&M is an exciting and innovative way of reaching a wider range of women. The collection will be sold through selected stores across Europe.

H&M head of design Margareta van den Bosch said: 'We have long admired McCartney's sense of tailoring and femininity. Consumer research further confirmed the strong appeal of her brand.'
