H&M-owned brands Monki and Cheap Monday have signed for their first UK stand-alone stores on London’s Carnaby Street.

The two new build stores, 37 and 39 Carnaby Street, total 9,500 sq ft and are leased by Shaftestbury.

Monki and Cheap Monday both launched in Selfridges in September.

Cheap Monday is famous for its jeans although it has expanded its range to include trainers and shirts.

Quirky girls brand Monki is aimed at 14 to 20 year olds and uses a lot of cartoon-style graphics.

Monki chief executive and founder Lars Karlsson said the retailer is also eyeing a store in east London but can see shops opening across the capital.
