Recalling the name of the rather nice bottle of wine that accompanied a relaxing Friday night can sometimes be a little taxing. But Morrisons has come up with a clever idea to address the problem.

The grocer is putting tear-off stickers on bottles so customers can simply rip off the label and use it as an aide memoire in-store to pick up the same again.

It might be something to do with all that complicated stuff about terroir and grape variety and the like – or maybe it’s just recognition of the fact that after a few too many, no matter how good the wine was its name may be lost in the fug of a hangover.
