Marks & Spencer is poised to debut a new advertising campaign for its food offer which will carry the strapline ‘Make Today Delicious’.

The campaign focuses on how M&S food can “make more everyday food moments extra special”, the retailer said. The first advert is set at a barbeque and features a voiceover by actress Anna Friel.

The advert debuts on TV on Monday on ITV1 during the interval of Coronation Street and the retailer will preview the ad on its Facebook page on Sunday night.

‘Make Today Delicious’ will act as an umbrella strapline for all M&S Food marketing, covering online, print and TV. It will be applied across the entire M&S Food offer as well as M&S’s popular promotions such as its Dine In for £10 deal.

Marks & Spencer executive director Steve Sharp said: “Spending time with friends and family is a priority for our customers, but with no major national celebrations this year they’re placing even greater emphasis on personal, more everyday events.

“Food is being used as a way to bring people together and make those moments more memorable – be it a BBQ, a picnic or a Sunday roast. This campaign taps into this trend – showing exactly how great food can transform the mundane into something special.”
