The horse meat scandal seemed to have settled down last week when Tesco said it would introduce new DNA testing to its business.

But Tesco and others will be disappointed to see that the issue is still rolling on.

Today it has emerged that the Food Standards Agency has ordered all grocers to publish their internal DNA testing findings in a bid to retain consumer confidence.

The issue is now much wider than one or two grocers. It is industry wide, and threatens to derail the sector.

Tesco’s swift response has gone a long way to reassure customers but the industry now needs to stand together to ensure there is a unified response.

If horse meat rattles on any longer, it could be damaging ot the whole sector.
