Chief executive makes announcement
Leading video games retailer Game is looking to expand its estate to 500 stores in the UK within the next few years.

The company pledged to reach 400 outlets by Christmas after it announced interim results yesterday.

Chief executive Martin Long said: 'The video games market has grown four-fold since 1995. That has underlined our pattern of store openings, as we move towards 500 stores over the next few years.'

Blockbuster-owned Gamestation is also pursuing an aggressive expansion programme, with 70 new stores slated for next year.
