Mobile phone retailer Orange has clocked up a record 65 per cent like-for-like sales growth so far this year.
UK retail managing director Nick Moore said sales in the four months to April surged 65 per cent on a like-for-like basis, but were ahead 92 per cent if new store openings are added.
The retailer is feasting on the buoyant mobile market and is to invest£9 million in in-store IT that will reduce waiting times when new contracts are being processed.
Orange is also planning to create a boys toys-themed store in London's Cheapside. Post-refit, the store will double in size to 2,000 sq ft (185 sq m).
