Furnitureland fined £9k over pricing scandal

Home furnishings retailer Furnitureland has been ordered to pay fines and costs totalling£9,425.

Trading standards chiefs from Leicestershire County Council brought the prosecution at Leicester Magistrates Court, because Furnitureland had misled customers with its in-store pricing information.

The retailer admitted six offences concerning claimed price reductions on three-seater sofas at the Fosse Park store, Leicester. Shoppers were given the false idea that the prices charged were reduced.
