Greek jeweller Folli Follie is to ramp up its UK expansion with a string of signings on the cards.

Folli Follie has completed one deal in the past fortnight and is in talks regarding about six more, which would more than double its standalone presence.

At present the retailer has six shops in the UK, including one on Sloane Street and one on Regent Street.

Folli Follie is now considering shops in Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Cardiff – where it has a deal in solicitors’ hands at present – and is understood to be closing in on a store at Bluewater, Kent.

The retailer has appointed property agency Michael Peddar & Co on a solely retained basis.

Michael Peddar & Co also acts for Folli Follie’s sister business, Links of London, which was bought by the jeweller in August 2006 for£45m.

Folli Follie has had plans to expand in the UK since then, deploying the Links of London team to oversee store acquisitions.

Michael Peddar & Co director Peter Henson confirmed Folli Follie is embarking on an aggressive expansion programme. He said: “They have been trading a little in the UK for many years but they haven’t really revealed themselves. Now they’re coming out in a big way.”

Henson said that Folli Follie – which has 350 outlets in 25 countries – hopes to add at least six shops a year over the next couple of years.
