Retailer doubles capacity of centre
Focus has invested£13 million in doubling the capacity of its distribution centre, in an effort to boost its supply chain and help generate significant cost savings.

The warehouse, at Tamworth in Staffordshire, has been extended to 225,000 sq ft (20,905 sq m), with a total area of 550,000 sq ft (51,095 sq m). The site can now take more than 62,000 pallets, almost 30,000 more than before.

A Focus spokeswoman said: 'This major investment has been in line with the business's plan to increase the number of products provided to its stores through a central distribution service, therefore limiting the number of deliveries from suppliers to individual stores.'

The distribution centre will be run by Wincanton on behalf of Focus.
