Danish furniture chain Flexa is planning to expand its UK presence with a move into Scotland.

It is searching for sites north of the border, with its first store close to being signed and a further five planned in the next two years. Flexa specialises in children’s furniture and has stores across 40 countries.

Glasgow company Capaldi Brothers has secured a Flexa franchise in Scotland and has appointed property agency Montagu Evans to find suitable locations, which are likely to be in large edge-of-town and out-of-town locations.

It has identified Glasgow as the likely site for its first store opening and is eyeing the city’s three major out-of-town centres, Glasgow Fort, Silverburn and Braehead, as potential debut spots too.

Montagu Evans retail partner Martin Gudaitis said: “Once we have secured Flexa’s first Glasgow store, it is the intention to have five others open within the next two years."
