Retail Week looks ahead to the next seven days, with updates from Conviviality, Joules and SCS on the agenda.

Conviviality

The drinks specialist will report its interim results on Monday, January 29. Conviviality’s transformation plan is bearing fruit with the retailer managing to more than double its pre-tax profits and EBITDA at its last full-years.

Investors will be keen to see how that momentum has been sustained as the rest of the grocery market won big at Christmas.

Joules

The preppy retailer is updating the market on its interim results on Wednesday, January 31. Renowned for its colourful product, lifestyle brand Joules is set to rack up another excellent six months, beating a challenged fashion market once again.

At Christmas, the retailer reported soaring sales and added that its disciplined stance on discounting would help it achieve its predicted gross margin for the full year.

SCS

The sofa specialist will report its interim results on Wednesday. SCS is managing to buck the incredibly tough furniture market as its value proposition cuts through the big-ticket downturn that has resulted from poor consumer confidence. At its first quarter, group like-for-like order intake rose 2.9%.

It will be interesting to see if its value-oriented approach continues to pay dividends despite fellow big-ticket retailers struggling.
