Figleaves plots own-label range

Figleaves.com, the lingerie e-tailer, will launch an own-label underwear range next year and aims to rival the multipack offers of the high street.

Chief executive Michael Ross said there is a gap in the market for 'aggressively-priced' underwear, which is dominated by established store groups, such as Marks & Spencer and Bhs, and brands such as Sloggi. Ross said that the launch of a Figleaves range is a question of 'when' rather than 'if'.

The e-tailer will also issue its first basic range underwear catalogue in the spring. The e-tailer was due to launch a US Web site as Retail Week went to press.
