Fashion powerhouse Arcadia is to expand its Topshop chain in Japan with the opening of a flagship store in Tokyo next month.

The 10,000 sq ft store will be the company’s fourth in Japan and its second in Tokyo.

It is slated to open on September 16 and will be in Tokyo’s Shinjuku shopping district. The existing Tokyo store is in the city’s Harajuku district and the two other Japanese stores are in Yokohama and Sapporo.

The store will carry both the Topshop and Topman fascias and will house womenswear, menswear, cosmetics, a shoe lounge and personal shopping suites, according to reports.

As the chain’s Japanese flagship, the store will have a premium look with chandeliers and gilded bronze mirrors. Topshop has also designed a collection of exclusive pieces for the store’s opening.

The Topman floor will feature an area called Japan Collaboration, which will house emerging Japanese menswear designers including Heath, Ambush and Roc Star. It is understood that the Japan Collaboration zone will later be replicated in the New York store.
