US fast fashion chain Forever 21 has opened its doors on Oxford Street.

The three-floor 35,000 sq ft store, previously occupied by HMV, will be the fashion chain’s UK flagship. Queues at the store this morning were said to have “gone round the block” as fashion-conscious Londoners flocked to value chain.

The store is the US fashion giant’s second in the UK, following its Birmingham debut last November.

The chain, a rival to fast-fashion chains such as New Look, has 500 shops worldwide and plans to grow its UK portfolio to over 100 stores.

It has already signed for stores in Lakeside, Bluewater, Liverpool One and Glasgow’s new Buchanan Street development. Property agent Harper Dennis Hobbs acts for the retailer in the UK.
