Experian Footfall

Experian Footfall data for week 47, 2010

November 22, 2010 to November 28, 2010

  • The national index saw a week-on-week increase of 2.7%. The footfall levels reached the highest they have been all year, though this is still lower than the expected increase for this week of the year, which has been affected by the weather.
  • Certain retailers are now advertising hard; Sainsbury’s launched its TV campaign on November 15 and John Lewis, Littlewoods and M&S soon followed suit. Department stores experienced a week-on-week increase of 7.4% and were level year-on-year, outperforming the national index.
  • Retail parks have seen a drop in footfall of 3.3% year-on-year, however, they often experience less footfall traffic as the weather worsens.
