Experian Footfall

Experian Footfall data for week 2, 2011

January 10, 2010 to January 16, 2011

  • Footfall dropped by 6.6% week-on-week, which was a relatively sharp decrease in comparison with previous years. It was, however, on the back of a very strong first week of the year where year-on-year comparisons were blighted by heavy snow in early January 2010. The first week of the year saw a large increase year-on-year due to the snowfall so perhaps this week’s figure gives us more of an indication of how the year has started; and that is fairly flat.
  • The retail park index while dropping 5.2% saw footfall increase 3.6% year-on-year. The snow in early January 2010 will have impacted the footfall within retail parks more than shopping centres.
