Experian Footfall data for Week 19, 2010

May 10, 2010 to May 16, 2010

  • The index increased slightly by 0.5% this week compared with the previous week – a customary uplift, albeit small, is expected at this time of the year, following the a week including the spring bank holiday Monday. However, footfall levels were up 0.4% compared with the same week last year.

  • Retail parks endured another week-on-week decline of 1.8% and, compared with the same week last year, was down 2.9%. The sunshine at the weekend may have discouraged footfall to retail parks, as performance was down 5.9% compared with the same weekend last year. Saturday’s FA Cup final between Chelsea and Portsmouth brought footfall levels down 2.4% against last year.
