Experian Footfall data for week 18, 2011

May 2 2011 to May 8, 2011

  • Following another long weekend, the index remained negative, falling by 2.3% week on week and by 1.4% against the same week last year. Footfall levels on the bank holiday Monday were down a further 6.3% on the same bank holiday last year. Traditionally, the fi rst week of May is one of the year’s quietest periods and with the added factor of the good weather this year, compared with last year’s wet bank holiday, a drop in shoppers was to be expected.
  • Retail parks also endured another week-on-week decline of 2%, and compared with the same week last year were down by 1.9%. On the bank holiday Monday there was a 12.8% fall compared with the bank holiday last year.
