Experian Footfall data for week 17, 2011

April 25 2011 to May 1, 2011

  • Footfall increased marginally week on week by 0.1%. It did, however, drop by 4% year on year. Bank Holiday Monday saw footfall drop by 14.4% year on year. Tuesday was up by 15.2%, Wednesday by 9.7% and Thursday by 21.4%. These three days showed good year-on-year growth and indicated that many people would have taken the week off work.
  • The royal wedding saw footfall fall by 33% and it remained down on Saturday at 10.2% and then was down by 11.1% on Sunday. The warm weather and short working week suggests many people may have taken advantage by taking a holiday. Retail parks were not as affected, with the index increasing by 0.3% week on week.
