What will be big in the electricals sector for this Christmas? Here’s a selection of gadgets and gifts from Dixons Carphone and Argos.

Electricals, ranging from laptops and televisions to blenders and headphones, are always among the festive season’s top sellers.

And some of last year’s favourites are back this Christmas with avengeance.

The newest suped-up spiralizers exclusive to Lakeland are expected to fly off the shelves, and Fitbits are set to be popular once again. Both Argos and Currys PCWorld stock the new Fitbit Blaze, along with competitor fitness trackers from the likes of Polar, Garmin and Tomtom.

Gifts for teens, or to suit a smaller budget, include Currys PCWorld’s range of Logitech wireless mouses. But Dixons Carphone chief executive Sebastian James has particularly high hopes for the Sony Megasound XB7 portable speaker system.

On a retro-tech trend, Polaroid Snap instant cameras and Crosley Cruiser record players are in the retailers’ top picks.

Cordless vacuums, coffee machines and Nutribullet blenders are again popular choices for the home, while drones and Apple watches are a safe bet for wide smiles on Christmas morning.
