Dutch fashion retailer The Sting has confirmed it will make its UK debut next spring in the iconic Tower Records store on the corner of Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street, as predicted in Retail Week (May 1).

The 33,875 sq ft site, which has been secured at a rent of £2m a year, which was taken over by Virgin Megastores in 2004 and briefly by Zavvi in 2007, has attracted several interested parties.

David Shaw, head of the Regent Street portfolio for freeholder Crown Estate, said: “The Sting is an exciting and dynamic retailer and
its approach is closely aligned with our strategy.”

Leaseholder Standard Life Investments was advised by Cushman & Wakefield and Nash Bond. The Sting was advised by Harper Dennis Hobbs.
