Dixons Group is on the hunt for more locations to open small- format PC World stores.
The retailer has been testing a new-model store in Boston, Lincolnshire.
The 12,000 sq ft (1,115 sq m) shop opened last autumn, and group chief executive John Clare said he was pleased with its performance. He added: 'We believe this will offer us further space growth for the business.'
Clare said the store-type allows the business to access smaller catchment areas and complements bigger outlets, which will continue to open. PC World has 140 stores and expects to open 15 this financial year.
- Dixons' arch-rival Kesa, which owns Comet, announced an increase in interim sales of 9 per cent to£1.6 billion. However, the company's retail profits fell by 7.9 per cent to£52.8 million.
