Disney Store gets back on track

Disney Store has revealed that losses were reversed at its 61 UK stores last year.

According to accounts filed at Companies House, the retailer made a pre-tax profit of£3.6 million in the 12 months to September 30 last year, compared with a loss of£2.6 million the previous year.

Sales at the chain increased by less than 1 per cent to£114.6 million.

Details of the profit turnaround emerged just months after the departure of the former head of Disney Stores Europe, Ben Gordon, to head Mothercare.

Gordon's brief at Mothercare is to reverse its fortunes.

Disney Stores Europe appointed Mitch Foreman as head of finance in December.
