Department store Selfridges has put its new buying team in place by hiring two new directors of buying for its womenswear division.

The department store has raided Harrods for its new director of women’s accessories and childrenswear Abigail Rainer who joins on January 9. Rainer was director of accessories and fine jewellery at Harrods where she had been since 2003 after moving from House of Fraser.

American Judd Crane fills the role of director of womenswear and comes from upmarket Hong Kong department store Lane Crawford. He joins Selfridges on February 6.
The new roles cover the duties carried out by Sebastian Manes, before he was promoted to buying director of womenswear, accessories and childrenswear following Anne Pitcher’s elevation to managing director of the iconic department store last year.

Both Rainer and Crane will be report directly to Manes.
