John Lewis’ own-brand fashion label boosts sales

John Lewis Partnership posted an increase in its weekly sales figures bolstered by sales of its own-brand products and continued clearance offers.

John Lewis & Partners’ total sales were up 1.3% during the week to July 16, boosted by a 7.2% jump in fashion sales.

The department store attributed the rise in fashion sales to own-brand fashion “performing particularly well” with sales up 6.6% and shoppers continuing to purchase summer clearance offers.

Electricals & Home Technology and Home sales both fell 2.3% and 0.7% respectively but its Textiles & Home Accessories sales jumped 8.1%.
