The UK-based department store chain will convert the stores to the Debenhams fascia over the next six to 12 months.
Following the completion of the deal, which adds 500,000 sq ft (46,450 sq m) of selling space, the group will have 135 stores in the UK and Ireland.
The outlets are located on Henry Street in Dublin, at Blanchardstown, Blackrock, Tallaght, Cork, Limerick, Tralee, Galway and Waterford.
Debenhams already has three stores in Ireland, in Dublin, Cork and Newbridge.
Debenhams chief executive Rob Templeman said: 'The deal was consistent with the retailer's growth ambitions, revealed at the time of the float. Debenhams believes it can trade from approximately 240 locations in the UK and Ireland.'
The acquisition is subject to clearance by the Irish Competition Authority.
· Marks & Spencer also revealed today that it has bought the Roches store at the Wilton Shopping Centre in Cork.
The 33,000 sq ft (3,065 sq m) store will open in spring next year and is M&S's 15th in the Republic of Ireland.
Last year, M&S took over two Roches stores, one at Blackrock in Co Dublin and the other at the Corrib Centre in Galway.
