The retail weather forecast from Saturday November 30 to Friday December 6, 2019

The week last year

A warm week with periods of rain, heaviest in the south.

The week this year

It will be a seasonable-to-warm week overall but temperatures will end up averaging lower than last year, which had a very warm week.

Most spots will be well cooler than last year, with the exception of northern fringe areas.

High pressure will build to the west again, leaving much of the country dry. Scotland is most likely to see some showers and a few may slide down the eastern coast during the middle of the week.

Mindset

A good week for retailers – fine weather supports strong footfall, and cooler-than-last-year temperatures support positive sales comparisons. Christmas shopping starts to become more of a demand driver than the weather.
