Nearly 500 jobs are set to be axed at Comet next week as administrators are poised to terminate the group’s home delivery operation.

The delivery arm is set to close on Sunday, according to The Sun.

Administrator Deloitte axed 130 delivery drivers last week as part of the first tranche of redundancies at Comet, which collapsed into administration two weeks ago.

Comet’s delivery network spans 12 regional hubs across the UK.

Meanwhile, the newspaper reports that OpCapita consultant Chris Pavlovsky is listening to bids for TWG, the profitable warranties business within Comet.
