7Eleven

7Eleven is an international chain of convenience stores, founded in 1927 in Dallas, Texas, by Joe C Thompson Jr who famously said: “Give the customers what they want, when and where they want it.” The retailer operates a franchise model for 7Eleven, with stores known for their long opening hours (originally 7am to 11pm) and their focus on convenient food-to-go such as hot snacks, sandwiches, salads and ice cream. It has made its name by offering coffee-to-go and its own-brand slurpees. Many US stores are located at gas stations offering fuel.

Japanese Seven&I Group has owned the worldwide 7Eleven network since 2005, with more than 70,000 stores worldwide spanning Asia, North America, Latin America and Europe.

Parent company Seven & I Holdings operates around 22,400 stores in Japan including convenience stores, superstores, department stores and speciality brand outlets. Its best-known banners include Ito-Yokado, York Mart, Shell Garden Co, Sogo & Seibu.
