Waitrose, Asda and Lidl have thrown down the gauntlet in the fight for Christmas spend with the launch of their festive TV ad campaigns.
Waitrose
With a focus on family and food, Waitrose has also enlisted the help of chef Heston Blumenthal, who has his own range with the grocer, to showcase the hustle and bustle of families celebrating the festive period.
Asda
Asda ups the tempo with its #becauseitschristmas campaign. Highlighting parties, dancing, dress-up and drinks the 30 second ad focusses on the indulgent side of the season.
Lidl
The Lidl school of christmas centers on the preparation that goes into Christmas dinner, from lighting Christmas puddings to boiling sprouts in the kettle Lidl take a light-hearted approach to cooking.
Other major retailers are due to unveil their Christmas ad campaigns this week, including Dixons Carphone on Thursday, while John Lewis and Argos launch their ads on Friday.
