CD Wow faces legal battle over grey sourcing

E-tailer CD Wow is facing legal action from music trade body the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

The organisation alleges that the online retailer is infringing copyright laws by selling products from the grey market.

But Hong Kong-based CD Wow refutes the claim and argues that it buys products from major record labels' worldwide operations or their subsidiaries.

The case is scheduled for the High Court on February 4.

CD Wow chief executive Philip Robinson said: 'We are convinced that we have a moral right and we will fight this all the way - to the European Court if necessary.'
