Fashion retailer Burberry has unveiled its first UK standalone childrenswear store at London’s Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill.

The 920 sq ft shop will sell Burberry’s full range of childrenswear, including shoes, accessories and a collection for infants.

Burberry chief executive Angela Ahrendts said: “Not unlike the clothes, the store is also a ‘mini me’ version and mirrors the new retail experience and newly designed retail concept that Christopher [Bailey] has developed for our newly opened flagship store in Knightsbridge and globally.”

She added that improving property deals have helped spur on the childrenswear expansion. “We’ve been able to accelerate our childrenswear initiative by taking advantage of real estate opportunities in strong, high demographic flagship markets that meet our high hurdle rates of return,” said Ahrendts.
