Brown & Jackson claims its new Instore format has boosted sales

Poundstretcher owner Brown & Jackson said it has seen 'excellent sales' in early tests of its new store fascia.

The retailer said some shoppers had been deterred by the Poundstretcher brand name and has therefore trialled its Instore fascia in 8 stores.

The company announced that initial sales have been excellent, 'with significant growth in customer flow and average spend'.

In the 26 weeks to August 23, overall sales increased by 5.6 per cent to£122.1 million. Pre-tax losses were£4.5 million, reduced from£36.7 million in the same period last year.

Brown & Jackson has upgraded 88 Poundstretcher stores in the year to date, out of a total of 340.
