Deal should be complete at end of month
Boots and Alliance UniChem shareholders voted in favour of a merger of the two companies, at EGMs held today.

Health and beauty retailer Boots revealed its plans to merge with Alliance UniChem last autumn. The merger was cleared by the Competition Appeals Tribunal in May, after Lloydspharmacy owner Celesio unsuccessfully attempted to stop the deal on competition grounds.

A court hearing to sanction the scheme is due on July 26 and the deal is scheduled to be completed on July 31.
