Tesco has paid £7.5 million for Monaco House and the Birmingham Automobile Centre on Bristol Street in Birmingham.

The price reflects an initial yield of 8.6 per cent, but the market-leading supermarket is understood to have paid a premium to reflect the site’s development potential for a new foodstore. The 1.9 ha site fronts onto the A38, one of the main routes into Birmingham city centre.
